THE MENHIR COLLECTION

The design for this collection came to me during a medicine walk.

The question I had taken with me on the walk was ‘what should me creative work be?’ The answer that came back to me was ‘monolithic’. Initially I thought that meant big, but I came to realise after seeing the imagery of Stonehenge that it was not about size, it was about the shape.

I began in copper and very quickly moved into Sterling Silver and have latterly added 24ct Gold Vermeil gilding to a lot of the pieces. Early on when designing this collection I realised that it was more than just about menhirs (standing stones) it was about my own love of the 20th centrturty Mid-century Modern aesthetic as well.

The result of that combination is when you see below. This is a cosntantly growing collection and it’s shape is also echoed in the Sputnik collection.
