THE DARRICARRERE COLLECTION

This collection was inspired by the Dalle de Verre stained glass windows designed by Frenchman Roger Darricarrere.

Born and raised in France and working in Chartre, Roger became a renowned exponent of Dalle de Verre stained glass. After not so many years Roger decided to moved to the USA and there he became a leading light in Dalle de Verre’s design, with installations across the continent from his base in California.

When I knew I wanted to make a collection to honour Roger, I felt I should make it in a way that was as similar to making Dalle de Verre windows as I possibly could. So where the facetted glass is cast in concrete or resin in a Dalle de Verre window, my creations are carved from wax and then cast in silver to emulate the amazing textured, colourful windows that Roger created.
