The Tournaline Darricarrere Ring. Made from cast, hallmarked Sterling Silver and set with a rose-cut dark Teal Blue Tourmaline.

Having made three other Darricarrere rings of varying styles I came to this angular rose-cut piece of deep Teal Tourmaline and felt it needed a simpler design to the other rings.

I had bought the gem along with four other similar shaped and sized pieces from a supplier in Jaipur and had not yet found a use for them. This gem is the largest of the collection and I felt it would work beautifully in a ring as a part of the Darricarrere collection.

As the Tourmaline had very definite lines across it, I felt I wanted the ring itself to be different to that but complimentary in design. This led to the low relief shank with minimal decoration. Still a ring to be noticed, but easier to wear to the supermarket than the other Darricarrere rings perhaps are.

This ring is 25mm tall, 27mm wide and 18mm deep.
